Once again, Vacaville will be celebrating all that its local art community has to offer. The Vacaville Arts and Cultural Alliance (VACA), in conjunction with Visit Vacaville, will be bringing back Arts Week Sept. 17 to 26.

Whether it is paintings, films, music or more, artists are invited to submit their work to Visit Vacaville.

Categories include visual arts, dance, literature, film/video, music, theater, festival, galleries and other media.

The event will take place at a variety of locations throughout Vacaville over the course of 10 days, and planned events include paint nights, art walks, exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops and more.

The first Arts Week was held in 2019 and featured movie screenings, musical performances, an art exhibit and a chalk art event in the Nut Tree Plaza.

“We can’t wait to welcome the public back to Arts Week 2021,” Melyssa Reeves, president and CEO of Visit Vacaville, said in a

The Almanor Art Show is on – save the dates

The Almanor Arts Show celebrates its 51st anniversary on Saturday July 31st and Sunday Aug. 1st on the Collins Pine Lawn in Chester CA. “We are overjoyed to be offering this fantastic event again after a break in 2020 because of covid shutdowns,” said Plumas Arts Events Coordinator Jennifer Ready.

The show was first hosted on the shores of Lake Almanor in 1969 by a group of Almanor Basin resident artists. The Almanor Arts Show was “gifted” to Plumas Arts in the early 1980s when the artists that had managed the show since 1969 felt it was appropriate to transfer show management to the county’s new local art agency which had been established in 1981.

When the Almanor Art Show outgrew its original home on the lakeshore, it was hosted for two years adjacent to the Collins Pine Lawn. In 1988, with the support of the Collins Pine management,

Hunter Biden’s art deal will keep buyers’ identities a secret

When Hunter Biden’s art is sold later this year, the public won’t know who’s buying his paintings —and neither will Hunter Biden, the White House, or his father, President Biden.  According to a White House official, any buyer’s identity will be kept secret by the gallery owner.

However, buyers may choose to make their identities known.

Another source familiar with the sales arrangement told CBS News that the New York gallery owner who is showing Hunter Biden’s paintings, George Bergès, will have the ability to reject offers that raise alarms.  Potential conflicts could include offers above the asking price from buyers seeking political influence with the Biden family.

Bergès estimates that Hunter Biden’s work could fetch between $75,000 and $500,000 per painting, according to a spokesperson for the gallery.  According to Artnet, Biden has no formal artistic training and has only begun working as an artist full time in

Edvard Munch is a famous Norwegian artist from the 19th and 20th centuries who is best remembered for his classic work, The Scream. 1709—Monticelli d’Ongina, Italy: The church Collegiata di San Lorenzo is refurbished in Baroque style. Art in the Garden returning to Ballard P-Patch this summer – My Ballard

The 19th Annual Art in the Garden festival is happening this August at the Ballard P-Patch (8527 25th Ave NW).

The yearly festival will have an extra reason to celebrate this year, as the Ballard P-Patch has been secured for future generations thanks to donations and public funding.

The gardeners of the 44-year-old p-patch were at risk of losing their small plot when Our Redeemers announced plans to sell the site in 2019. Our Redeemers had been leasing the plot to the City of Seattle for just $1 per year, for over four decades, but announced plans to sell it so they could pay for renovations in the church.

The p-patch caretakers were busy fundraising all last year, and in December, received a large donation from Amazon to help secure the garden for years to come.

This year’s Art in the Garden will take place August 7 from 10 a.m.
