Urry means plenty of different things – but above all else, it indicates an affinity for cartoon creatures and other anthropomorphic animals. Results indicated that participants identified significantly more target motifs under condition four —listening with both visual and kinesthetic prompts. There were no significant differences between the number of motifs correctly identified under conditions one, two, and three—listening only, listening with visual prompts, listening with kinesthetic prompts. Participants with moderate hearing losses identified significantly more motifs correctly than did participants with severe hearing losses, although both groups of participants identified more motifs correctly using additional sensory input. These findings indicate that students who deaf and hard-of-hearing do benefit from the multimedia presentations of new information. Results corroborate frequent pedagogical suggestions found in the literature that utilizing a multi-sensory approach is beneficial for many students with hearing losses.
