Figurative art, alternatively known as figurativism, is a style in art forms -predominantly in paintings and sculptures. Normally during the school year I travel to various Region 14 school campuses, visiting thousands of students through our Art-To-Go program. While on spring break this year, I received an unfortunate phone call saying that the schools were closing due to Covid-19 precautions, which meant that myself and the other Outreach Instructors would ultimately not see our local students, classrooms, and teachers again until the next school year. This was hugely disappointing as we love our monthly campus visits, as well as hosting each of those students at the museum in May for the final month of the program. But- just because Art-To-Go was placed on hold, doesn’t mean that our student outreach went on hiatus! The Education Department at the OJAC worked quickly to create outreach alternatives for these student audiences despite these unusual circumstances. Smith, Roberta. Sometimes referred as The Dutch Mona Lisaâ€, Girl with a Pearl Ear-ring is a portrait of a girl depicted by Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. It was painted around 1665, when portraying just a head was not considered as a portrait. In his time, Johannes Vermeer couldn’t sell the painting for much, but today, it’s one of the most admired paintings in art-world. In present time, we can find it at Mauritshuis gallery in The Hague. Superstroke is also a post modern art movement. It was originated in South Africa as a reaction to Superflat. It is the most influential movement in African regarding modernism and abstraction. Superstroke entails characteristic super expressive brush stroke. It is a quite modern phenomenon. Colorful, dramatic and thought-provoking abstract images are featured in the winter biannual 2007 VSA Day Arts exhibit at N4th Gallery. Clearly Abstract includes multi-media work by forty-three artists in the Day Arts Program. The exhibit showcases work by adults with disabilities in two and three dimensional wall pieces by VSA’s better-known abstract artists as well as many emerging artists showing their work for the first time. Exhibition organised by the Royal Academy of Arts, London with the collaboration of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. In addition to Red Rag British Art Gallery Peter King has exhibited at other leading Scottish Art Art Galleries. Each painting at Red Rag is sourced from the Peter King artist studio and like all Red Rag Scottish art and Contemporary art it can be shipped worldwide.
Makeup Sponges – Again, it is useful to have a few different types and textures which will give you more choices in stippling or applying paint. A good sponge to use is the large ones used for washing cars which can be picked up cheaply in dollar stores. I always buy a large one and then cut it down into different sizes. When you have used your sponges in body painting you should always throw them out. Keeping your products and work area completely sterilized is hugely important. Ghetti, C.M. (2011). As a young artist Ian studied Drawing and Painting at the Glasgow School of Art between 1970-1974. After studying painting at art school McWhinnie became an art teacher specialising in ceramics. With demand for his work increasing Ian set up his own art studio workshop in 2002 producing hand-painted and wheel thrown ceramic pieces. Our poster paint comes ready to use and is a fun way to make beautiful art. Poster paint is the perfect paint for anyone. The memories of school days will return when you first dip your brush, palette knife or fingers into the rich, creamy, colourful paint to begin your artwork. These modest objects belie the revolutionary nature of the artist himself, who dared to answer his own question of what is art?†with Art is what I say it is.†Duchamp believed it was the idea behind the final object that represented the art, not simply the objects themselves. This concept has influenced artists and art-making ever since. Nilsson, U. (2008). The anxiety- and pain-reducing effects of music interventions: A systematic review. AORN Journal, 87(4), 780-807.
