This study examined the music used in tango dancing classes for people with Parkinson’s disease. The main aim was to determine if there were musical features common to the most beneficial pieces. Specialised software (MATLAB) was used to analyse the music’s tempo, beat clarity, key signature and brightness or energy levels. This was combined with data from the teacher and clinicians involved, they named the pieces or musical features they considered most successful.
